Craft at Home is a family concern trading in crafting products for the discerning crafter. The family consists of mum and dad (Moira and John), three sisters (Angela, Margaret and Moira), brother-in-law Terry.
Our website originally started in the year 2000, when Angela developed the idea of selling craft products via the web. This quickly blossomed into the website you see today, where we have an extensive range of products that we sell worldwide.
In October 2006 we were proud to announce the opening of our shop in Blantyre, Scotland. Not only has this given us the chance to meet our customers but we instantly gained more storage room and so have extended our product range.
Our shop also has a lovely craft room, enabling us to offer customers an extensive range of craft classes, as well as the opportunity to join one of our regular craft clubs.
But who are we? Well here's the team;
Angela Baikie - Sole Proprietor
Angela has a background in printing and her love of crafting developed from a love, and extensive knowledge, of paper and ink. Thankfully she also knows a lot about computers! Angela runs the show, spending time doing everything from book-keeping, updating the website, stock ordering, mail, telephone orders, advertising, organising craft classes, organising events etc, and you'll even see her on the shop floor and heading the craft club. Angela's craft love is scrapbooking, producing wonderful layouts based on her knowledge of colour and design. However she also produces more unusual pieces from paper, including the gorgeous 12 x 12 wall clock that adorns the shop wall. On top of this, Angela's card designs have been published, the most recent being a set of designs using Disney products.
John Baikie - Mail and Stockroom
John worked as a landscape gardener and a labourer. Lucky for us his extensive knowledge and experience of building houses meant that fitting out the shop (with the help of his brother Robert) was a breeze! John now deals with outgoing mail and stock inwards/outwards, but like everyone else he isn't adverse to working on the shop floor.
Moira Baikie - Sales Floor
Moira works on the sales floor where she keeps customers updated with her knowledge of current stock. She enjoys reading, knitting and, much to her own surprise, card-making. When she's not in the shop Moira enjoys day-trips to Ayr, Blackpool, Carlisle or anywhere with a tea-room where she can spend time with her friends.
Margaret Baikie - Sales Floor, Craft Club, Book-keeping, Website Updates
Margaret has a degree in Commerce and is currently working towards a degree in Art History. She works full-time but spends most of her weekends in the shop working on the sales floor. Margaret runs both Sunday craft clubs and also hosts one-off craft classes, such as how to make a star book. She also helps Angela update the website and dabbles in book-keeping. Margaret is happy to try any crafting idea, but enjoys card-making, scrapbooking and ATCs.
Moira Parker - Sales Floor and Craft Classes
Moira has a degree in Public Administration and currently works full-time. However, Moira's enthusiasm means that she can frequently be seen working on the shop sales floor at weekends, demonstrating products, and hosting craft classes. Moira enjoys scrap-booking and card-making; trying everything from medallion stamps to Pergamano. Moira also enjoys making ATCs and frequently mounts them onto birthday cards!
Terry Parker
Terry works full-time for a printing firm in Edinburgh. However, he has also been known to appear on the shop floor at weekends. Terry has been known to produce his own cards, but especially loves anything with a Dr Who theme!
We are here to help and our aim is to give you an enjoyable on-line shopping experience resulting in your complete satisfaction.
